20 years of DKG
DKG – Deutsche Kompensationsgesellschaft mbH was founded in 2005 with a simple focus:
support companies in chemicals, energetics and related industries with the engineers and project staff they actually need.
Over the past two decades we have worked on a wide range of topics:
- process and plant engineering in chemicals and energetics
- construction and modernisation of explosives and propellant plants
- supporting roles in E&I, automation, project controls and site management
Much of this work is not public, but the pattern is clear: complex plants, long project horizons, real operational responsibility.
What has not changed
A few principles have stayed constant:
- We work with a small number of clients instead of chasing mass volume.
- We aim for long-term cooperation rather than quick transactional hires.
- We talk to engineers and project people as peers, not as “profiles”.
We are not a generalist agency.
We say “no” to work outside our focus so that we can be clear and honest on the mandates we do take on.
How the market has changed
In twenty years we have seen:
- consolidation in chemicals and energetics
- the impact of energy prices and geopolitical shocks on European plants
- a steady tightening of regulatory frameworks and safety expectations
- increasing difficulty in finding experienced site-ready engineers
This has made senior engineering talent even more critical, especially for projects that cannot simply be offshored or postponed.
Looking ahead
For the next years we expect:
- continued demand for brownfield optimisation and debottlenecking
- selective new builds in defense and specialty chemicals
- ongoing pressure on organisations to do more with leaner teams
Our role will remain the same:
to support decision-makers in these industries with realistic, precise recruitment — and to give candidates a clear and honest picture of the roles they are stepping into.
If you are planning to build, modernise or stabilise industrial assets in our focus sectors, you can reach out via the contact channels listed on this site.
We will tell you directly if we can help — and just as directly if your topic is outside our scope.
